To borrow a line from a musical of my youth; Now it begins. Now it starts. But not a relationship unless you can have one with a country. Next week, I will get on a plane and fly away. For my 80th birthday, my children pitched in and bought me a round trip ticket to Spain.

My oldest son David, and his husband Patrick, live there. When they moved, I said I wanted to visit but it is expensive, and I am retired now. My daughter Ann called last fall and said I had my choice; time with David and Patrick in Spain or going with the family on a Mediterranean cruise to celebrate my granddaughter’s high school graduation. Either trip would be wonderful, but my daughter Mary would be going on the cruise. Since her father does not travel by air anymore, he would be alone while the rest were on the cruise. Spain was the answer.

My good friend and writing partner had ordered me to keep a log of my travels. This will be an introduction to that travelog. I will try to post each day with my observations of life around me and the things I see. I will post links on Facebook as well as send emails.

Isn’t the internet amazing? I will be traveling and writing, and you will be able to read it without waiting for the publication of a book.
